If you are a breastfeeding mommy, you have no doubt faced fashion frustrations. In the last few months, I have found that it is very difficult to find new clothes that are functional for nursing! Sure, there are some boutique options available - but I'm not going to be breastfeeding forever so I don't want to invest tons of money in a temporary wardrobe.
That is why I am so excited to tell you about my latest find: Undercover Mama! Undercover Mama is basically a strapless undershirt / tank top that attaches to a nursing bra and allows fast and easy access for nursing. Undercover Mama was designed by a stay-at-home mom who had firsthand knowledge that nursing fashion is not great - and that nursing in public while wearing "normal" clothing can be difficult since lifting a shirt means your side, back, and belly may be exposed. And just after having a baby is really not the time most of us want to show off that skin!

The Undercover Mama is available in seven different colors and costs $24.99. At first glance that might seem like a lot - but after trying out an Undercover Mama myself, I have to tell you that it is a steal! I have literally worn my Undercover Mama every day since I received it and plan to buy a couple more in other colors!
The shirt is long enough that about an inch shows below most of my t-shirts. Before baby, I always wore layers and this shirt completely recreates that look - but also has the functionality of a nursing shirt. I love it!
The ingenious design allows you to attach to the flap of your nursing bra - so the tank folds down with the bra, while the bottom part of the shirt remains in place (keeping your back, side, and belly covered). It is super comfy and does a great job of keeping everything (like leftover baby weight) in place. Undercover Mama's website has helpful videos on how the design works - I highly recommend watching them, as I tried about four different ways to attach mine and then realized that all of them were wrong. As soon as I watched the video I realized how incredibly easy it is to attach - that's the brain of a new mommy for you! :)
If you are currently breastfeeding - or expecting and planning to breastfeed - I highly recommend you give Undercover Mama a try! It would also make a great gift for a new nursing mommy. In the early days of exhaustive breasfeeding, every mama should have one of these. It will become a wardrobe staple for sure!
