Walgreens: Saved 87% on Pampers, Starbucks Ice Cream, M&Ms and more!

I'll be honest - it's been several weeks since I've managed to drag myself, the baby, and all the coupons out to snag all the deals I keep telling you about.  Finally this week I psyched myself up, made a list, packed up everything and headed out to hit up the drugstores!

Walgreens -
Transaction 1:

Items I Purchased:

Pampers Baby Dry Diapers, size 2
SoBe Life Water

Total Price before Coupons: $9.98 (sale prices; retail value $12.98)

Coupons Used:
- $1.50/1 Pampers Diapers, exp 6-30-11 (P&G 06/05/11)
- $9.50 in Register Rewards (from a very quick transaction last week)

Total w/ tax after coupons: $.48

Register Rewards Earned:

- $1.00 from Pampers
- $.99 from SoBe Water

There was a problem with the register and the Register Rewards - the cashier told me that buying the SoBe water cancelled out the RR from the Pampers.  I persisted until I got the full amount of RR's, but it took calling a manager, cancelling and redoing my transaction, and probably fifteen minutes to get it right.  :\

Transaction 2:

Items I Purchased:
M&M's 14oz bag - 4
SoBe Life Water
Starbucks Ice Cream - 2
Total Price before Coupons: $15.98 (sale prices; retail value $27.13)

Coupons Used:
- $1/2 M&Ms from Walgreens June Coupon Book
- $1.50/2 M&Ms Bag, exp. 7/3/11 (RP 05/22/11)
- $1/1 Starbucks Ice Cream, exp. 6/19/11 (RP 05/22/11)
- $1.98 in Register Rewards (from first transaction)

Total w/ tax after coupons: $5.71

Register Rewards Earned:
- $.99 from SoBe Water

Final cost after both transactions including earned RR's: $5.20

Total Savings (off retail value): $34.91 or 87%!

Keep Foods Fresh with GRIPSTIC - Review + Giveaway

The GRIPSTIC is a new way to seal bags. Basically, it is a long thing strip of plastic like a straw (but sturdier). Inside is a yellow guide stick. When I first saw The GRIPSTIC, my immediate thought was that it was probably another useless gadget that doesn’t work nearly as well or easily as it implies. Yet I was very pleasantly surprised. I received three Gripstics of varying sizes. I figured I would give them a shot. I got out a bag of chips. The top was all scrunched together with a chip-clip forced over the mess. I took off the chip-clip (and ate a few chips). Then I tried the “3 Easy Steps.”

Step 1: Fold and crease the open end of bag. Place the yellow guide under the fold.
Step 2: Slide the GRIPSTIC across the top, making sure the bag feeds between the guide and outer sleeve.
Step 3: Center the GRIPSTIC on the bag to ensure a tight seal.

And it really is just that easy. I sealed my bag of chips and then moved on to a smaller bag of nuts (which I find notoriously annoying to use a chip-clip on) and it worked perfectly. I used my third and final GRIPSTIC on a bag of cheese on which the seal was broken. No need to put the broken bag into a Ziploc bag anymore. The GRIPSTIC really is very convenient and easy to use. I'm excited about this very user-friendly product that hardly takes up any extra space in my kitchen!

If you're looking for a great new alternative to the traditional chip clip - GRIPSTIC is definitely for you!

The Bum Boosa® Bamboo Diaper Rash Ointment is another product we tried.  It contains 100% natural zinc oxide diaper rash ointment with a great combination of natural ingredients - including bamboo powder, high quality herbs and essential oils including chamomile, lavender, comfrey, shea butter, jojoba oil, calendula extract, rosehip oil, organic olive oil grapeseed oil.  This ointment is fantastic - very smooth, works quickly, and it smells amazing

Best of Caillou: Caillou's Summer Vacation DVD Review + Giveaway

PBS Kids’ cartoon series, Caillou, follows the title character around his everyday life as a small child.  In the episode “Captain Caillou” - which is featured in Caillou's Summer Vacation - we watch as Caillou goes to the park with his grandfather. Caillou’s grandfather made him a sailboat and he entered it in a sailboat race! Even though he didn’t win, he was able to make friends with the other racers and learn that you don’t always have to win to have fun. After the park, Caillou explores for things that make loud noises. He hears his dad mowing the lawn and thinks that’s pretty loud. Then his father surprises him and takes him to the airport to see the planes take off. Caillou is very impressed with the loud engines of the planes. Then finally, Caillou gets to be the ring bearer in a wedding. Though he nearly loses the rings, he finds them and saves the wedding.  This is just one of the adventures you'll take with Caillou on this DVD!

Caillou reminds me a little bit of the Family Circus comics featured in the weekly newspaper. The animation is simple, yet engaging. And the show teaches valuable lessons without seeming too preachy, so the kids may not even realize they are learning lessons!

Best of Caillou - Caillou's Summer Vacation is now available on DVD! You can pick up a copy now at Amazon - or win one below!
Specifications: Full Screen with Dolby Digital English Stereo
Rating: Not Rated
Runtime: Approximately 110 minutes
SRP: $12.99 U.S

Eversave Secret to Saving Survey Results

We know you love to save, but do you ever feel guilty when you spend? We recently conducted a survey along with one of our favorite deal sites, Eversave to find out your shopping habits.

We asked more than 500 women about their shopping habits as part of the survey. And guess what we learned? Even though you are savvy shoppers - 37 percent of you have saved $51-$100 while making purchases – 67 percent of you still feel guilty about it. Thirty percent admit to hiding a purchase in the trunk of their car until they can sneak it in the house undetected – and we thought we were the only ones!. And when it comes to seeing great daily deals, 49 percent will buy the deal for themselves without hesitation.

We also learned the lengths you will go to save money and stretch your family’s budget. Almost all of you, 93 percent, use coupons and/or promo codes. An equal amount shop during sales. Eighty-three percent of you use deal sites like Eversave and 80 percent use manufacturer coupons.
